Hello and welcome folks, this is a new blost. This month, August is the month of Blaugust, a festival of blogging. Originally created and hosted by Belghast, who last year, was unable to host, so that fell to NerdGirlThoughts who did a great job. Unfortunately between August last year and this year, Belghast sadly passed away. NerdGirlThoughts and the Blaugust mentor team have decided to keep the festival going. And as I did last year, I am aiming for five blosts throughout the month.
Last year I managed to get a grand total of eight posts written, which was amazing for me, with my record of blost writing frequency. I am hoping to get around the same amount written this year, but we’ll see.
And of course, I would love to see others participating, it’s a great way to find new blogs to read and enjoy some great blosts. You can find information for signing up here.
Other things
I could do a complete new blost for this, but I don’t feel like it, so I’m going to just list a couple of things I have done, am enjoying, etc. here.
- I’ve been enjoying getting stuff done on my Debian system.
- I got three new books while on holiday (all second hand). I started reading one of them, and am really enjoying it, it’s a factual book about the Eighth Air Force’s bomber command of the United States Army Air Forces in World War Two, really interesting stuff.
- I have recently switched to using Joplin for my notes (including writing blosts), syncing through Nextcloud, which is quite enjoyable to use. I have been getting a couple of notes setup with a to-do list and a reading journal.
- I am planning to make a journal on my website, I just need to figure out the best way to do it - a short form blog of sorts.
Now, I’m going to go and do some more writing, and planning and reading and other stuff. Have a good one folks, BYEEE!!!
